2004
spring flooding caused this 54 year old bridge to partially
collapse, closing the only access to this part of Washington County,
AR. County officials were forced to make a quick decision on
replacing this structure with a competitively priced, structurally
sound, and quickly installed bridge.
The
bridge chosen for the project was Scurlock Industries bridge
system. The 24 section bridge was produced in less than a month,
and took only 5 days to install. After the sections were in place,
the contractor poured wing walls, and the county road crew finished
the approaches and installed the guardrail, completing the 130'
bridge in 4 weeks.
